CHASE AWAY WINTER BREAK BOREDOM!

How long after Christmas will it be till the kids start saying "WE'RE BORED"?? Well, Serendip has a plan to help prevent that.

We'll be offering three children's classes for the week after Christmas.

Monday, December 28, Kids Kandlemaking. From 11:oo a.m. to noon, Angela Buckley will teach kids from ages 4-14 a safe and easy way to make rolled beeswax candles, and the kids will take their creations home! Cost is $12 per participant, and all materials will be provided.

Tuesday, December 29, frm 1:30-3:00, is Laura Neal's Kids Can Bead Class. Children aged 8 and up will learn to make a memory wire bracelet and an optional memory wire necklace. Cost is $12 for each child, or $20 each if they want to make a necklace, also. Laura will provide all the materials, but if the student has a special charm or bead to use, they should bring it along.

On Wednesday, December 30, from 2:00-3:30: Teresa Morbitzer's Winter Wonderland Watercolor class will teach children aged 6-12 masking and wash techniques. Students will take home their painting of a forest of birch trees. Class costs $25 dolloars, plus a $5 supply fee.

All three of these classes require pre-registration, so be sure to call or email to hold a place for your young artists!!

NEWS OF NOTE FROM THE MARKET AT SERENDIP

Our first big news: The Market at Serendip will host a CRAFTERS' SUPPLY RUMMAGE SALE on Saturday, February 28, 2009. Our artists will be bringing in all their excess and no-longer-needed craft supplies and they'll be priced VERY LOW! We already expect to offer beads, rubber stamps, jewelry kits, polymer clay, silk flowers, and much, more more. It's a great way to break your cabin fever and get the creative juices flowing for a minimum of cash! Come to the craft room at the Market at Serendip from 10:30 to 1:00 on 2/28, and check out all the goodies!!

Next: effective immediately, The Market will be closed Sundays except by appointment.

Last, but definitely not least: we're putting together some GREAT classes for March. Laura of Laura Neal Designs will offer classes for bridesmaids' and brides' necklaces-- samples are in the store, and we'll follow up with details as soon as we get them worked out. Also, Amy Ressa (The Painted House and More) will teach you how to paint your own wine or martini glasses, using the one-stroke method. Classes will be held in March, and again, schedules will follow-- we were just so excited about these that we couldn't wait to tell you about them!
